Viewers may remember Spirits on Bourbon and its owners, Steve Smith a nd B r a d B oh a n n a n , f rom " B a r Rescue" on Spike TV with host Jon Tafer. Tafer was the keynote speaker at Wooda rd 's a n nua l accou nt i ng technology conference, Scaling New Heights 2015 and Woodard invited Bohannan and Smith on stage to talk with Tafer about their transforma- tion. Impressed with the relationship bet ween Taffer and the owners of Spirits on Bourbon, Woodard decided to continue the transformation that was started on "Bar Rescue." Tafer had managed to successfully turn Spirits on Bourbon around, but the transformation was not complete. Tere was more work to be done to help the bar run more efciently and profitably, including upgrading its current systems. Te new sofware that was implemented during "Tech Makeover" w ill improve manage- ment capabilities for the bar owners while mak ing it easier for them to share the necessary information with their CPA. Moving forward, Woodard wanted someone that could continue the work who Tafer had already started. Te web series was sure to be a high- profile engagement and he needed someone who would be successful and professional. Insert Hendrix, a tightly aligned Woodard Consulting partner with 20 years of experience. "Hendrix has a proven track record, and she's certifed on all of the tech- nologies that were deployed. "Every referral we've sent her way, she's done an amazing job with, so naturally, it made her a good ft for the series and for Spirits on Bourbon. She doesn't know how to fail," said Woodard. T he s e c ond p a r t of S pi r it on Bourbon's transformation actually began during Scaling New Heights. Woodard sent analysts to the bar to get an idea of what the bar needed to get to the next level. Te team walked t h rough t he ba r a nd i nter v iewed team members to get a beter feel of where the bar was and what it needed. Once they were on site, Hendrix decided that the frst step was to put in a powerful wireless system to get Spir its on Bourbon work ing ef f i- ciently in the Cloud. Once they had the system in place, the bar moved to Quick Book s On line Accountant. Te bar previously used QuickBooks Desktop, but there was a lot of time wasted waiting for Bohannan, Smith and their accountant to enter infor- mat ion. A s a resu lt, it cou ld ta ke almost a month for Bohannan and Smith to get updated information. By moving to Quick Books Online Accountant, their accountant can work any time w ithout waiting for information. Bohannan and Smith are able to see their accountant's wor k i n re a l - t i me . It's about exemplifying Quick- Books Online as a hub of information i n t hat ever y tech nolog y ta l k s to Quick Books Online directly – and sometimes to each other through QuickBooks. It becomes more than just a way to enter information and balance accounts. It's about the whole QuickBooks ecosystem – Intuit, the sma l l business, Intuit's developer partners. And, 'Tech Makeover' really showcases this," said Woodard. From beginning to end, things moved uniquely fast: flming for the entire frst season took place in the week bet ween Christmas and the start of the Mardi Gras season, both of which are major holidays in New O r l e a n s . A new reality web series shines a spotlight on the power of QuickBooks' ecosystem and how it can transform a small business.
