Cloud9 provides a portal with a built- in document management and storage system, we have been paper- less for about four years now. The final thing to get us fully paperless was eFax and that was about three years ago. There is no way a small to medium-sized business can replicate the security and infrastructure enterprise host- ing companies do and/or banking institu- tions have for your money. Hobbies: I love to hike, paddle board, do Pilates Cloud computing has revo- lutionized the accounting space because it has added a greater level of security and removed all geographic boundaries for accountants and their clients. When traveling and meeting with accountants, I understand that their big- gest fear is security. How mobile are you re- garding your work? How have mobile devices and apps impacted your pro- ductivity and work-life balance? I travel about 40 percent of the time and find that the virtual office allows me to work seamlessly. The iPad has really taken that to the next level. I do of course miss my multiple moni- tors when on the road and it's not quite as easy to do things without them – but my whole of- fice, all my apps, my contacts, calendar, and data are with me when I need them no matter where I am. Have you found business success via so- cial media, either via recognizable ROI, new customers, marketing or network- ing? Absolutely! It's a great tool to create a sense of community with your current clients as well as networking for potential partners and prospects. NOT including your current employer, what company do you most admire and why? VMWare and CloudSway. VMWare has set the tone for virtualization on the backend which makes our technology redundant as well as automated. CloudSway isn't fully out there yet but I have seen their product in-depth and it is a unique singular sign on delivery with syncing that nobody has ever delivered before; it's going to be a game changer for accountants and business owners alike. What sports team/championship event do you absolutely refuse to miss? So many to name! Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Heat, NBA All Star Game, NBA Finals & Championship, NFL playoffs and of course the Super Bowl! What is your favorite professional mo- bile app, and why? Salesforce on the iPad – it allows me to take my CRM with me wherever I am. 30 | 2012 CPA Practice Advisor 40 Under 40 BACK TO PAGE 3
