ADVER T ORIAL O (Scan)Snaps for the 2012 CPAPA Thought Leaders ver the past year, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. has shown our commitment to the CPA and accounƟ ng mar- ket by increasing eī orts in product development, expanding strategic co- markeƟ ng acƟ viƟ es, and providing educaƟ onal content in conjuncƟ on with several soŌ ware partners through the CloudSoluƟ ons Alliance. Along the way, we see the imprints being leŌ by 25 individuals who have contributed to shaping this profession into what it is today. These thought leaders not only help direct and guide us as we navigate this someƟ mes-crazy accounƟ ng world, but also provide that vital reality check when some of us get our head too far in the Cloud. Most importantly, they spur us on to conƟ nue blazing new trails while provid- ing invaluable help as we look to build a beƩ er future for the accounƟ ng profession. What a great opportunity this is to take a look back at 2011, pay tribute to this year's CPAPA Thought Leader honorees, and most of all, look ahead to the future of accounƟ ng. OH, WHAT A YEAR 2011 was an exciƟ ng year for Fujitsu for several reasons. At the beginning of the year, we introduced the world's smallest ScanSnap, the ultra-mobile S1100, which proves to be the perfect gadget for any road warrior. The S1100 ensures that every accounƟ ng professional can truly be paperless anywhere, and is a perfect complement to our two addiƟ onal ScanSnap models, the personal sized S1300, and the S1500 desktop workhorse. We were also honored throughout the year with several industry recogniƟ ons. The ScanSnap S1100 was awarded the CPA PracƟ ce Advisor InnovaƟ on Award; the enƟ re ScanSnap product line was given the Awesome Add-On Award, a lifeƟ me achievement, by The Sleeter Group; and I was humbled to join so many amazing industry in⇓ uencers on CPAPA's 40 Under 40 list. IT'S BETTER TO GIVE While all the recogniƟ on and awards are phenomenal, I'm most excited to be able to make contribuƟ ons to the accounƟ ng profession as we have throughout the year through various educaƟ onal iniƟ aƟ ves with a great group of partners known as the CloudSoluƟ ons Alliance. Together as vendors we realize that CPAs and accountants don't need another sales pitch, but are hungry for informaƟ on on new technologies surrounding Cloud, SaaS, document management, and other ways they can grow their business and be more producƟ ve. As an alliance, we've underwriƩ en a whitepaper, "Three Key Tech Strategies of Successful 21st Century AccounƟ ng Firms," authored by Jim Bourke of WithumSmith+Brown; sponsored a research study of the top 100 accounƟ ng ⇒ rms and their adopƟ on of Cloud, SaaS, and work⇓ ow technologies, conducted by Bay Street Group; hosted numerous educaƟ onal webinars on document management, Cloud security, and other perƟ nent topics; and most recently, co-created the THRIVEcast, an educaƟ onal monthly podcast series from Jason Blumer, CPA.CITP and THRIVEal+CPA Network. Our goal with each of these diī erent projects has been to provide accounƟ ng professionals with informaƟ on that will help them be more producƟ ve, beƩ er serve their clients and become more compeƟ Ɵ ve. PAY IT FORWARD So now is our chance to return the honor and salute this year's top 25 thought leaders. We want to thank these men and women for their contribuƟ ons and their commitment to the profession. We thank them for providing forward-thinking ideas that oŌ en provide the sparks that ignite creaƟ vity from the most unexpected places. And ⇒ nally, on behalf of those of us represenƟ ng the future of this industry, we thank them for inspiring us to keep climbing, keep reaching, and keep growing – so that one day we too can look back and see our own imprints leŌ on the accounƟ ng world.
